Yesterday a bill allowing same-sex couples to adopt children has been passed in in NSW parliament's Lower House here in Sydney. Before the proposal becomes reality it has to go through the upper house as well. But things are happening! Since July 2009 same-sex couples who can prove they are in a de facto relationship have most of the rights of married couples, but Australia does not have a national registered partnership or civil union scheme.

I like when brands like Ben & Jerry take a stand for social issues like these, fighting for people´s right to love and be respected for it. I am not sure it´s a trend, but let´s wish it is. If you have more examples of brands with guts, let me know!
